UFFL II History
The UFFL was created in 1995 by league commissioner, Dave Torreano.
The league was founded in El Paso, TX and consisted of ten butterbar lieutenants
attending the Officer Basic Course at Fort Bliss. The first UFFL champion was Matthew Lambert.
The league then moved to Fort Bragg, NC in 1996 with a group of new owners, all soldiers from 3rd Battalion (Airborne), 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment. Brian Thorne and the Mustangs dominated the league on his way to the title.
The following year, 1997, the Wolverines and Dave Torreano ("Da Commish") defeated Brian in the championship game and claimed the crown.
UFFL II and UFFL III were created in 1998 after an overwhelming reponse by fantasy football owners all over the country to join the original UFFL league.
1998: Larry Stier and the Fighting Irish defeated the Commish and the Grim Reapers in the first UFFL II Championship Game enroute to claiming the 1998 UFFL II Title.
1999: GM of the year had to be Carlton Redd and the Canuckleheads. Picked to finish no better than 6th by the "experts", Carlton picked up two key free agent acquisitions, Kurt Warner and Olandis Gary, and with the lineup of Warner, F. Taylor (J. Stewart), Gary, Harrison, and J. Smith held off strong competition from the Irish and Robos Splatterers to win the Campbell Division. The Canuckleheads cruised to the UFFL II Title with a victory over Ryan Panopio and the Cyclones.
2000 proved to be a banner for Dave Torreano, aka, Da Commish as he picked up Championships in UFFL, UFFL II, and UFFL III. Grim Reapers was back in the UFFL II Championship Game after losing in 1998. This time around the Regular Season Champions behind Marshall Faulk cruised to a victory over Chris Reed and Mighty Moose.
2001 was an exciting year and in the end Dave Torreano and his Grim Reapers found themselves back in the Championship Game after a mediocre 7-6 regular season. The opponent was newcomer Mark Edgar and The Widowmakers. The Reapers crushed The Widowmakers behind a strong performance from Eddie George and in the process claimed back to back UFFL II titles.
2002 welcomed the return of Chris Reed and Mighty Moose. Chris took runner-up honors in 2000 and then moved the Mighty Moose to UFFL IV. Lance Thomas and Air Express moved to UFFL III after a three year stint in UFFL II.
Dave Torreano and Grim Reapers dominated the regular season with a record setting 12-1 season behind 2002 UFFL II MVP Priest Holmes. But it was Chadd Maia and Danville Doppelgangers emerging from the wildcard matchup to win it all, defeating Dan Harrison and Hooligans. Doppelgangers also claimed the 2002 Ultimate Champion Title defeating the three other UFFL league Champions.
2003: Newcomer Allen Poteat and Waynesville Superchickens claimed the Regular Season Championship but limped into the playoffs with injured RBs Clinton Portis and Stephen Davis. Mark Edgar and The Widowmakers took advantage behind stud WRs Marvin Harrison and Hines Ward, defeating Waynesville in the Championship Game and claiming his first UFFL Championship.
2004: Mark Edgar and The Widowmakers claimed the Regular Season Championship and then went on to crush Scott Johnson and Bayou City Badboys in the Championship Game. Mark also won the title in 2003 and joins Dave Torreano as the league's only two-time Champions.
2005: Dave Torreano and Grim Reapers won the Regular Season Champonship (11-2) and then defeated Robo Watson and Robos X-terminators in the Championship Game 132-93. He was powered by league MVP Shaun Alexander and Carson Palmer. The Grim Reapers claimed a hat trick ('00, '01, & '05) with the title.
2006: Chris Reed and Mighty Moose won the Regular Season Championship (10-3) and then get their revenge from a 2000 title game loss, destroying Dave Torreano and Grim Reapers in the Championship Game 179-71. The Moose were strong at every position with four pro-bowlers on the roster, Steven Jackson, Marvin Harrison, Robbie Gould, and Baltimore Defense.
Take a look back at the 1998 season, the 1999 season, the 2000 season, the 2001 season, the 2002 season, the 2003 season, the 2004 season, the 2005 season, or the 2006 season.
The 2006 Season
2006: Chris Reed and Mighty Moose won the Regular Season Championship (10-3) and then get their revenge from a 2000 title game loss, destroying Dave Torreano and Grim Reapers in the Championship Game 179-71. The Moose were strong at every position with four pro-bowlers on the roster, Steven Jackson, Marvin Harrison, Robbie Gould, and Baltimore Defense.

The 2002 Season

The 1999 Season
1999's GM of the year had to be Carlton Redd and the Canuckleheads.
