The 2007 UFFL IV Draft will be held on Thursday, August 23 at 9:00 PM EDT. The draft will be held in a private AOL Chat Room, "UFFL IV Draft". Non-AOL users can download AIM for free and IM me in order to be invited into the room. This draft is LIVE! That means you have to be in the chat room at the said time on the said day. If it turns out that this time conflicts with many of the owners' schedules, then I am open to rescheduling it. However, if only one or two owners can't be there, we will go ahead with the live draft at that time. The owners that can't make it should submit a comprehensive draft board to the commish before the day of the draft. Put the players in the order you want them, and make lists at each position. I will simply select the highest available player on your draft board when your turn comes up. Make sure you have a large listing, because if you run out of players before the draft is over, then I will be forced to select the players for you.
If you know that you can't be online to attend the draft at that time, please let me know via email. If I get no responses, I am going to assume that the draft day is fine with everyone. The sooner you find out the better.
The draft will consist of 18 rounds. The draft order is based on the previous season's record, with the team with the worst regular season record getting the first draft position and so forth. The draft is serpentine, 1-12 in the 1st round, 12-1 in the 2nd round, etc. You can choose any player, regardless of position, and any defensive team(s).
Trading of draft picks/position is allowed prior to the draft. The trade must be of equal draft picks, ie. #1-3 & #2-10 for #1-9 & #2-4. The trade must be e-mailed to me NLT August 16 at 10 pm EST.
The Commish will prompt each owner before a selection is made. For example, "3.1 Sea Bass". The selection will look like this, "3.1 Deuce McCallister". Do not pick until prompted. Each owner will have a maximum of 1 minute between selections. If a pick is not made within the allotted time, the owner will forfeit that position and wait until the next pick. We will be flexible for anyone who gets booted. Just get back online as soon as possible. A two minute timeout will be called. Trades may be discussed and made between owners immediately following the draft.
Once a pick has been made, it is final unless someone has aready drafted that player. If you pick a player who has for example retired or is out for the season, don't worry about it. You can always drop that player for another during the first free agency signing period even before the season starts.
Rosters will be available on the web site later in the evening.
